JULY 14 - BRITAIN today named a team of 48 athletes for the Olympics in Beijing next month and still hope that world marathon record holder Paula Radcliffe (pictured) will recover in time to compete.

May 8 - Olympic bronze medallist Tasha Danvers (pictured) will captain London South at next month’s Super8 competition in Cardiff, the new two-hour City versus City that is athletics' version of Twenty20 cricket.

July 15 - Sally Gunnell (pictured), the former Olympic champion, is to head a new £5 million five-year sponsorship by McCain of UK Athletics in the build-up to the 2012 London Games.
