Marina Yamaguchi will take the World Pole Sports Championships senior women’s title home to Japan after winning today in ‘s-Hertogenbosch.

Her score of 56.300 points proved to be enough for the victory at the Maaspoort Sport in the Dutch city on the final day of competition.

She just edged in front of the United States’ Rafaela Montanaro, who was 0.500 behind in second place, while Russian performer Natalia Knysheva came third with her score of 55.600.

The pole sport senior men gold was won by Mexico’s Ahumada Reyes, with the judges giving him 52.900 in an exciting final.

It was a close run battle as he finished just 0.100 Naoto Araya of Japan.

Guilherme Ambrosio secured the bronze medal with a total of 50.400.

In the pole sports senior doubles contest, US duo Polina Volchek and Dimitry Politov added a second title to their haul.

Their score of 56.000 was 0.900 better than Mexican pairing Erika Ortega and Rodrigo Alcantara.

Another pairing from Mexico, Maria Eugenia Plaza Ortega and Sergio Ivan Chan Banos, took the bronze.
